Our children are precious. What they wear sits against their skin for hours every day. We believe their uniforms should begin with organic natural fibres - not fossil-fuel-derived synthetics.
Because caring for our children and caring for the world they will inherit are not separate responsibilities. When we make better choices for one, we make better choices for the other.
WHAT TOUCHES THEIR SKIN MATTERS.
Children can spend 8–10 hours a day in their school uniform. And what they wear is more than just fibre. Dyes, prints, coatings and performance finishes can introduce additional substances into clothing.
PFAS
“Forever chemicals”
Used in some textile treatments to provide stain, water and oil resistance. Certain PFAS are associated with health concerns and are highly persistent in the environment.
PHTHALATES
Plasticisers
Certain phthalates can be present in plasticised prints, coatings and components. Some are associated with endocrine and reproductive health concerns.
DYES & FINISHES
What finishes the fabric matters too
Certain textile dyes and finishing chemicals can be associated with skin sensitisation and other health concerns.

We choose certified organic natural fibres and carefully consider the dyes, finishes and treatments used in our uniforms.
For us, making a better school uniform isn't only about what the fabric is made from. It's also about what we choose not to add to it.

GOTS-CERTIFIED ORGANIC COTTON
We choose GOTS-certified organic cotton for its softness, breathability and durability. Grown to certified organic standards, it gives children a natural fibre designed for comfort through long school days and repeated wear.
Soft. Flexible. Made to move.
ORGANIC COTTON JERSEY
We choose organic cotton jersey for PE and active school days. Its soft knitted structure provides natural stretch, breathability and freedom of movement, without relying on a conventional polyester-based sports fabric.
Crisp. Breathable. Designed for everyday school wear.
ORGANIC COTTON POPLIN
We choose organic cotton poplin for school uniform pieces that need a clean, structured finish while remaining breathable and comfortable. Its smooth, tightly woven construction makes it well suited to shirts, blouses, dresses and other everyday uniform styles designed for repeated wear.

1. Do you design and manufacture sustainable school uniforms in Dubai?
Yes. Sustainably U designs and makes school uniforms in Dubai for schools across the UAE. We develop each uniform around the school’s identity, climate, daily activities and the needs of the children who wear it, from design and fabric selection through sampling, sizing and local production.
2. What fabrics do you use for children’s school uniforms?
We focus on natural and organic fabrics selected for comfort, breathability and durability. Fabric, weave and weight are considered according to the garment, school environment and everyday demands of children.
3. Can you create a complete custom uniform programme for a school?
Yes. We can develop a coordinated uniform programme around a school’s identity and practical requirements, including different garments, age groups and everyday school activities, while maintaining a consistent design language.
4. Why manufacture school uniforms locally in the UAE?
Local production allows us to work closely with schools through design development, sampling, sizing and production. It also gives us greater visibility over how the uniforms are made and creates a shorter, more responsive supply chain within the UAE.
5. What happens when children outgrow or no longer need their uniforms?
Sustainably U is developing a circular approach to school uniforms designed to keep clothing in use for longer. Depending on condition, this can include repair, return, reuse and other responsible next steps rather than treating an outgrown uniform as waste.
